The role
Atela builds a battery-powered, body-worn camera device for a North American AI company. As our Electrical Engineer, you own the device's electronics: camera sensor bring-up, PCBA design and prototyping, production support, and field repair. You work daily with an engineering team in North America.
Responsibilities
1、Bring up camera sensors: sensor selection, prototype boards, one-off tools and bring-up. - Root-cause field failures and drive PCBA fixes and revisions into production.
2、Drive electrical design reviews for the next-generation device: schematics, layout, component selection, power architecture.
3、Coordinate with factories and suppliers: and on-site support through EVT/DVT/PVT builds.
4、Run the repair flow: triage returned devices with the repair technician and identify recurring failure modes.
5、Document bring-up procedures and design decisions.
6、Own EMC pre-compliance and remediation
7、Own system integration: architecture, compatibility verification, abd product safety.
Minimum qualifications
1、3+ years in electrical engineering, including at least one shipped product carried from schematic through production and field debugging.
2、Multi-layer PCB design in Altium or equivalent: impedance-controlled stackups, high-speed differential routing (MIPI, USB), power design (PMICs, bucks/LDOs, Li-ion charging and gauging), DFM.
3、Camera hardware experience: image sensor bring-up (I2C init and register-level debugging), MIPI CSI-2 integration, camera module and flex design debug sensor integration issues (sync, link errors, interference).
4、Component-level diagnosis: oscilloscope, logic/protocol analyzer.
5、ODM/OEM production experience: EVT/DVT/PVT builds, first-article review, yield issues.
6、Daily use of AI tools in engineering work: design review, datasheets, scripting, documentation.
7、Fluent Mandarin and English, written and spoken.
Preferred qualifications
1、Camera SoC experience (Rockchip, SigmaStar, Allwinner, or similar) and carrier board design for compute modules.
2、Firmware experience: embedded C, sensor drivers and device trees on embedded Linux (V4L2).
3、Experience managing repair/rework technicians. - Background in body-worn, action-camera, drone, or AR/VR devices.
