We are pleased to share an important update from recent communications with New York University Tandon School of Engineering (NYU Tandon). The Career Planning and Development Office (CPDO) has been officially informed that students of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) will now benefit from an automatic waiver of English language proficiency requirements (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS) when applying to NYU Tandon’s master’s programs.
Key Details
Eligibility. Full-time undergraduate and graduate students of CUHK-Shenzhen.
Effective Date. This waiver applies to all applications starting from the date of this announcement.
Application Process. When completing NYU Tandon’s online application, simply select “The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen” as your institution. The system will automatically recognize your eligibility and waive the language score submission requirement.
Important Notes
Supplementary Materials: If you have already taken English proficiency tests (e.g., TOEFL/IELTS), you may still submit scores as supplementary materials, though they are no longer mandatory.
Other Requirements: All other application components (transcripts, recommendation letters, personal statements, etc.) must still be submitted in accordance with NYU Tandon’s official guidelines.
