The Speaker:
Associate Professor Steve Sault is currently the Director of the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics. Steve teaches finance courses within the School and his research interests focus on equity market anomalies and the information content of ASX trading queries. Steve is also involved in a number of research projects utilising computational linguistics to assess the content and sentiment of online information.
Info Session Outline:
This information session will introduce key concepts and career opportunities in statistics and explain why there is growing demand for statistician and data scientists.
The session will provide an insight into what studying statistics involve, how it relates to data science and data analytics and what traits are required to be a good statistician.
